Problem
Chemical corrosion
Project
Lakeside Water and Sewer District lagoon head works rehabilitation
Client
Lakeside Water and Sewer District,
Lakeside, Montana
Location
Lakeside, Montana, just south of Kalispell at Flathead Lake
Description
This structure was experiencing extensive hydrogen sulfide and sulfuric acid deterioration at the sewage treatment lagoon head works.
Solution
The Poly-Triplex Certified Installer was contracted to line the structure with the Poly-Triplex Liner System. The liner was installed and has stopped all deterioration from hydrogen sulfide and sulfuric acid in the structure. This was a considerable savings over removing and replacing the structure, which would have cost several thousand dollars more.
Benefit
The problem was solved and it cost the sewer district much less than anticipated.

Comments
Lakeside Water and Sewer District was very pleased with the results and completed the project at significantly lower cost than replacement. Poly-Triplex provided a more permanent solution than new construction and provided a 10-year warranty, a warranty that was not possible with remove and replace.
